origin: Derived from railway station name given in 1888 to the former South Brisbane Junction, probably because the surrounding residential development was called Corinda, possibly after a pastoral run in the Aramac area in which Sir Arthur Palmer (1818-1898) pastoralist and politician had an interest. Edward Palmer ( - ) is reported to have been involved in the estate development but the link between Sir Arthur and Edward is not clear.
history: The bounded suburb of Corinda was named and bounded by Minister for Survey and Valuation, Urban and Regional Affairs 11 August 1975. Boundary altered by the Minister for Natural Resources 22 September 2000. Boundary altered by the Minister for Natural Resources and Minister for Mines 23 August 2002.
