origin: Name derived from adjacent suburb of Kenmore, which name derived from the local residence of Andrew Todd ( - ) built ca. 1880, which is reported to have been named after a village on Loch Tay. Kenmore is reportedly Gaelic for big headland.
history: Originally named by Queensland Place Names Board 1 November 1969. Name and boundaries confirmed by Minister for Survey and Valuation, Urban and Regional Affairs 11 August 1975. Boundary altered by the Minister for Natural Resources 26 May 2000. Amendment of the boundary separating Kenmore Hills and Chapel Hill was approved by the Minister for Natural Resources and Mines on 7/06/2013 and notification of this approval was published in Place Names Decision Notice (No 13) 2013 in the Queensland Government Gazette on 28 June 2013.
