comments: The locality of Pentland comprises the discontinued localities of The Cape and Buchanan, and part of Torrens Creek. Local Government Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2009 - Subordinate Legislation 2009 No. 35 provided for the amendment of the boundaries between the local government areas of Charters Towers and Flinders. A relevant area, lot 4180 on plan PH143, was transferred from the council of the shire of Flinders and received by the council of the region of Charters Towers and the external boundaries of each local government area were adjusted accordingly. This resulted in a small area of the locality of Torrens Creek being transferred from Flinders to Charters Towers.
